This week has been great regardless of how busy things have been with Craig's work. Our garden is growing well and we're beginning to see blooms on some of our tomato plants! Whatever was eating our squash and cucumber plants seems to have gone away and the plants appear to be recovering quite nicely. The most exciting part of our garden this week though has definitely been the blooming of our rose bush. This year was the first time I have ever pruned a rose bush and I had no idea what I was doing. Regardless, the bush is full of huge blooms and Craig has been loving showing it off to friends and neighbors (which at times gets a little embarrassing).
The one thing that has made this week the best though for the both of us is our gratitude journals. This week we began to write one thing that we were grateful for that had happened throughout our day... one thing that allowed us to see God's hand in our lives. It's amazing what an attitude of gratitude can do for your spirit. Thanks Hosfords for the suggestion to start such a journal in church last Sunday! We'd like to encourage all of you to do the same. The entry doesn't have to be long or even well written; the whole idea is to get in the grateful mindset.
